Comments

When you leave a comment on our site, the data entered in the comment form, your IP address and your browser’s user agent are collected to help us detect undesirable comments.

An anonymized string created from your e-mail address (also known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify your use of the service. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been validated, your profile photo will be publicly visible alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the site, we advise you to avoid uploading images containing EXIF data of GPS coordinates. People visiting your site may download and extract location data from these images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you will be asked to save your name, e-mail address and site in cookies. This is only for your convenience, so that you don’t have to enter this information if you leave another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set a number of cookies to record your login information and screen preferences. The lifetime of a connection cookie is two days, that of a screen option cookie is one year. Data storage periods

We collect Personal Data from customers, patients (past, potential and present), parents/guardians of patients, doctors and website visitors when you visit our Sites, register on our Sites or via online forms, or when you download and use the App, including, for example, when you register to receive newsflashes from us or to complete a Smile Assessment. This data may include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, IP address or other permanent identifiers, geolocation, date of birth or age, gender, income information, credit card and other financial information related to payments for services, dental records, physician information, photographs and other information you choose to provide. In addition, when you visit our Sites, we may collect sensitive data about you, such as health information about your teeth, including images of your teeth. Users of the Application may also obtain information relating to their wearing of aligners, the alignment stage they are at, scheduled appointments and treatment progress, which is shared with their practitioner as part of the remote care features offered by the Application.

We will inform you of such purposes at the time we request additional Personal Data, including sensitive data, about you and we will do our utmost to collect only the data strictly necessary for the intended purposes.

If we collect health data via our Sites, we will ask for your explicit consent to collect sensitive data and your acceptance of the terms of this Privacy Statement.

We also collect information about your use of our Sites, as described in the Cookies and Advertising section below.

Occasionally, you may choose to provide us with Personal Information about other people so that we can, for example, contact them with information about us. You should only provide us with such Personal Data if those persons have given you permission to do so.

What do we do with the information we collect?

  • We use your Personal Information for a variety of business purposes, including:
  • configure and manage your account on our sites ;
  • allow you to use, purchase, reserve and/or download products and services.

  • provide contact information for dentists and their practices, and send them contact requests;

  • to use content uploaded to the Appli to share on social networks and to copy your content to promote Aligneurs Français products and services on the Internet, on television, in publications or in any other media. We will never display your name on any promotional material we create without your explicit consent, but you should be aware that others may recognize you from your photo.

We use a strong combination of data sources (online, orders, customers, etc.) to gain an overview of our products and marketing efforts. We use this data solely for our marketing activities and under no circumstances share your personal data with other companies for them to use for purposes other than their collaboration with us.

With whom do we share your Personal Data?

We work with other companies who help us with our marketing, communications and sales activities, and we may share your personal data if you have given us permission to do so, or where permitted by law. These partners are not authorized to use your information for any purpose other than working with Aligneurs Français.

App users who have been registered by their practitioner and who accept the remote care functionality offered by the App can also have information about their aligner wear, the aligner stage they are at, scheduled appointments and treatment progress shared with their practitioner. To unsubscribe from the App’s remote care functionality, please contact your practitioner or send an e-mail to contact@aligneursfrancais.com.

Cookies and advertising

Like many websites, our Sites use cookies. In addition, we use interest-based advertising to deliver ads that match your interests.

Online tracking

The Do not track (“DNT”) header is a privacy preference that users can select in some web browsers. DNT is a way for users to inform websites and services that they do not wish certain information about their web page visits to be collected over time and across different websites or online services. Aligneurs Français does not recognize or respond to DNT signals triggered by browsers.

Links to other sites

Links from our Sites to other websites are provided for convenience only. Aligneurs Français is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other Web sites, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement of the information or the company. This means that if you link to another site from our Sites, we are not responsible for and cannot control what they do with your data.
You also have the option of sharing your personal data with other websites, including social networking sites. We can provide an appropriate link to enable you to do this easily, but we are not responsible for and cannot control the sites in question or what you post or share. Aligneurs Français offers you the possibility of requesting to no longer receive electronic communications sent by Aligneurs Français or our partners by withdrawing your consent. If you do not wish to receive our communications, please let us know when we collect your information, or write to us at any time at contact@aligneursfrancais.com and do not forget to mention your country. You can also use the unsubscribe feature included in e-mails. Please allow us sufficient time to process your request.

Please remember that withdrawal of this consent does not apply to mandatory communications, such as responses to a request, and is cancelled if you subsequently request information from us, for example, if you subscribe to receive news flashes from us.

Security

The security of all Personal Information provided to us is important to us, and Aligneurs Français endeavors to take the necessary measures to protect your Personal Information. Our Sites have security measures in place to attempt to prevent the destruction, loss, misuse and unauthorized alteration, disclosure or access of the information under our control. Our Internet portals, such as AF SETUP, transmit patient information (including Personal Data) securely via the HTTPS protocol. These portals require the use of a customer account and are not accessible to the general public. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while Aligneurs Français strives to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of any data you transmit to Aligneurs Français, and you do so at your own risk.

If you have rights of access, disclosure, modification or deletion (in accordance with applicable law), please contact us at the postal or e-mail address below.

In Europe, individuals may contact us regarding their rights of access, receipt (port), limitation of processing, request for rectification or deletion of Personal Data held by Aligneurs Français concerning them.
